Gallery of Distinction

The Gallery of Distinction is the most prestigious honor the College presents to recipients who exempify and support the history, traditions and legacy of ºÚÁÏÉç and our vision of providing innovative career pathways and student-centered learning opportunities that result in students capable of succeeding in local and global communities. Throughout the years, our honorees have shown ºÚÁÏÉç tremendous commitment both philosophically and philanthropically.

On February 12, 2022, Ms. Sue Cook, a longtime philanthropic and volunteer leader of ºÚÁÏÉç, received the newly formed ºÚÁÏÉç Gallery of Distinction award for her exceptional generosity in the promotion and support of the College.

On February 11, 2023, Dr. David Campbell became the second recipient of the Gallery of Distinction award for his significant philanthropic contributions in the promotion and support of ºÚÁÏÉç. 

Ms. Carmen Taimanao

On February 10, 2024, Ms. Carmen Taimanao became the third recipient of the Gallery of Distinction award for her outstanding work and involvment with the Harold Crouch Micronesian Scholarship as well as her contributions in the promotion and support of ºÚÁÏÉç. 

 

 


Distinguished Alumni

Established in 1958, the Distinguished Alumni Awards is the highest honor that Navarro College bestows upon outstanding alum of ºÚÁÏÉç. The award acknowledges and recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and exemplarily achievements of NC alumni whose personal lives, professional achievements, and community service exemplify the objectives of their alma mater.  Complete List of Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients

 

 


Bulldog Hall of Fame

The ºÚÁÏÉç Bulldog Hall of Fame was established in 2019 to promote a program of recognition for great athletes, coaches, and supporters who have distinguished themselves and the College in the field of intercollegiate athletics, or who have contributed to the development of intercollegiate athletics at ºÚÁÏÉç. 

 

 


ºÚÁÏÉç Piper Professors

To bring recognition to outstanding achievement in the teaching profession in colleges and universities in the State of Texas, the Piper Professor Award Program was established by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation in 1958.

This distinguished honor is awarded to instructors who are committed to excellence in education. Award recipients are dedicated to the teaching profession and have made a special impact on students as well as the community. ºÚÁÏÉç proudly recognizes teachers selected as Piper Professors:

Margaret Pannill, 1961

Margaret Pannill

1961

In 1961, Margaret Pannill, English instructor, became the first recipient of the Minnie Stevens Piper Professor award at Navarro.

Lucile Boyd, 1971

Lucile M. Boyd

1971

In 1971, Lucille Boyd, Spanish and French instructor, becomes the second Minnie Stevens Piper Professor recipient at Navarro.

Geraldine Johnston, 1978

Geraldine Johnston

1978

In 1978, Geraldine Johnston, English Professor and Phi Theta Kappa sponsor, becomes the third Minnie Stevens Piper Professor recipient at Navarro. 

McAfee Daniel, 1986

McAfee Daniel

1986

In 1986, McAfee Daniel, Chairman of the Division of Communications and an English instructor, becomes the fourth Minnie Stevens Piper Professor recipient at Navarro.

Mr. Daniel was freshman in the first class at NJC in 1946 and joined the Navarro faculty in 1965.

Dr. Richard Miller, instructor of psychology and sociology becomes Navarro's fifth Minnie Stevens Piper Professor in 1989. 

Dr. Tommy Stringer, 1994

Tommy W. Stringer, PhD

1994

In 1994, Dr. Tommy Stringer, History instructor becomes Navarro's sixth Minnie Stevens Piper Professor.
