Music

If you to prepare for a degree that will allow you to work in the music field, look to 黑料社 for hands-on experience, a foundation in critical thinking and skills to succeed at a senior college or university.

The Associate of Arts Degree is a transfer curriculum for students who plan to pursue a degree in music after completing their studies at 黑料社. In addition to private instruction on most instruments, 黑料社 offers a wide variety of opportunities to perform, compete and learn about music.

 

NAVARRO COLLEGE BAND PROGRAM

  1. The 黑料社 Marching Band performs a number of exciting field, street, and exhibition performances each fall.

  2. Jazz Band members study and perform various jazz styles, including swing, bebop, latin, blues and ballads.

  3. Concert Band performs high-quality concert literature of all levels in the spring.

  4. Woodwind Ensemble is a small group that specifically explores the woodwind repertoire.

  5. Brass Ensemble is a small group that specifically explores the brass repertoire.

  6. Percussion Ensemble is a small group that specifically explores the percussion repertoire.

  7. Guitar Ensemble is a small group that specifically explores the guitar repertoire.

  8. The 黑料社 Pep Band performs at home basketball games.

 

NAVARRO COLLEGE VOICE PROGRAM

  1. CHORALE: This is the "y'all come" choir. No audition required! This LARGE ensemble performs music from all periods of music history from early Renaissance repertoire to popular and contemporary music. This ensemble performs two concerts per semester.

  2. CHAMBER SINGERS: This auditioned small ensemble represents the best of the best at 黑料社. Performing primarily a cappella and advanced repertoire spanning the musical spectrum, this premier group of singers performs throughout Texas.

  3. MUSICAL THEATRE ENSEMBLE (Sound Company): This auditioned group combines good singing with stage skills. If you are interested in Musical Theatre and contemporary literature, this group is for you!

  4. WOMEN'S AND MEN'S CHORALE: These auditioned ensembles perform literature from across the centuries specific to their voices. 

  5. PRIVATE PIANO AND VOICE LESSONS are available to all 黑料社 students, regardless of major.
