Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®)
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is the first step to receive financial aid at ºÚÁÏÉç. Use your Federal Student Aid Identification (FSA ID) and tax information to apply online. Our Financial Aid team is here to help students and parents with every step of the process.

Students and parents each need to create an account with to get the FSA ID before starting the FAFSA®.

Good news! Tax returns from 2 years prior can be used toward the FAFSA® - No guessing required!

When you are completing the FAFSA® and need immediate assistance, a chat feature is available on the FAFSA® website or 1-800-4FED-AID.

If you would like to meet with a Financial Aid Success Coach, contact us by sending us an email or call (903) 875-7400, and we can schedule you for a virtual, phone, or in-person session.

After the FAFSA® is submitted, review your Student Aid Report (SAR) for any changes needed.

After Completing the FAFSA®
Check to find your award letter explaining what financial aid ºÚÁÏÉç is offering you.
This can also include state and institutional aid. If you list multiple schools as options in your FAFSA®, you may only receive federal aid from one institution per semester.
The Financial Aid Process
1. START PLANNING EARLY
Develop a game plan so you can be prepared to pay for college.
2. FILL OUT THE FAFSA® FORM
Apply for the Federal Student Aid through the website.
3. REVIEW YOUR OFFER
Compare the aid each school is offering, if you listed multiple schools. Accept your aid offer.
4. GET YOUR AID
Time for school! Aid goes to the school to cover tuition/fees first, then you will receive the rest for other college costs.
5. REPAY YOUR LOANS
Find an affordable repayment plan.
Submt your FAFSA® to ºÚÁÏÉç by using the Federal Code: 003593.
