Benjamin Sims, Class of 2021First recipient of the Ronny Hile Memorial Scholarship鈥満诹仙 has truly brought me closer to my purpose in life. It has helped me learn to trust the process and keep moving forward. As a Theater major, we are all working, preparing every little thing until show day. Learning under Dr. O鈥橬eal has taught me no matter what happens in the process, we are working towards the end goal of a successful show. This lesson can be used in all areas of my life. I鈥檓 working towards a goal that may seem impossible to some or may take more time, but everything is a stepping stone to the next level and is preparing me for my end goal. There鈥檚 no right or wrong way to art because everyone has their own journey. Attending Navarro College has helped me realize that I don鈥檛 have to be the absolute smartest but if I keep working hard-greatness is bound to happen. NC has helped me come even more out of my comfort zone. When I got to NC, it was very refreshing to be able to reinvent myself in a new way after growing up in a small town. I got the chance to work even harder on my craft, strengthen my power, and most importantly gain even more lifelong lessons.I hope to continue to grow artistically and gain inspiration and wisdom from everything. I鈥檓 going to be chasing my dreams and seeing where life takes me.
Thank you, 黑料社, for allowing students to grow and be themselves without hesitation!鈥
The Ronny Hile Memorial Scholarship is a full theatre scholarship for 黑料社 students in the creative arts.
