Procedure

VETERANS SERVICES

黑料社 is authorized by the Department of Veterans Affairs to certify students enrolled in degree and certificate programs for benefits under Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill庐 鈥 Active Duty, Chapter 1606 Montgomery GI Bill庐 鈥 Selected Reserve, Chapter 31 Veteran Readiness and Employment , Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill庐 鈥 Active Duty, and Chapter 35 Dependents鈥 Educational Assistance. Eligibility and chapter is determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs.  The Veterans Services  Office also offers assistance to veterans and their dependents who want to use the Hazlewood Veteran, Legacy or Dependent exemptions. This office assists students through entire process from application to attending classes.

Veteran students must follow their degree plan. To be considered a full-time VA student, the student must meet all enrollment requirements.  Full-time status is determined based on the equivalent of 12 semester credit hours taken consistently over a long-term semester.

Veteran students using Federal Education Benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs must request that their courses be certified by submitting a on Self Service > Financial Aid > Resources (right side of page) > .

Veteran students can only be certified for courses that are on their specific degree plan unless they are in the last semester before graduation (i.e., all required courses have been fulfilled on the active degree plan). In the event that a veteran student is in the last semester before graduation, they are authorized to take an additional course(s) on their degree plan or repeat a course(s) on their degree plan if doing so helps get them closer to full time. The VA does not pay for extra credits above full time outside of the active degree plan.

Veteran students can only be certified for a repeat course if the course was failed with an 鈥淔鈥 grade, unless they are in the last semester before graduation. Veteran students in the last semester before graduation may be authorized to repeat courses that have met graduation requirements.

For information pertaining to class attendance and the effects of nonattendance on Veterans Affairs benefits, veteran students should see the section entitled Attendance of Student with Veterans Benefits (Student 鈥 Attendance 鈥 Attendance of Student with Veterans Benefits).
