LVN COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION

LVN Commencement & Pinning Ceremony

Friday, August 15, ºÚÁÏÉç

Time: 6:00 p.m.

INFORMATION FOR GRADUATES

  • Arrive 1 hour prior to the ceremony dressed in cap and gown

  • Graduates will check in the Louis Gibson Hall (See Building #38 on the ºÚÁÏÉç-Corsicana Map.).

  • There will be no rehearsal, so your prompt arrival is essential.

  • The ceremony is a distinguished event. Please dress tastefully, and keep in mind the robe is knee to shin length. Slacks or knee-length skirts are appropriate.

  • Gowns should be free of any markings or other modifications.

  • Caps may not be decorated during ceremonies.

  • Only approved military cords, PTK Honors stoles, and the Bulldogs Unite medallions can be worn. 

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You may be standing for long periods at a time.

  • Students arriving late will be placed out of order to the end of the line.

  • Please contact the Culture of Caring Coordinator at (903) 875-7348 or email the Office of Accessibility & Accommodations by July 26th if you or any of your guests will need assistance with seating arrangements, the procession or crossing the stage.

  • Please leave all personal belongings (purses, jackets, cell phones, etc.) with your guests prior to check-in. ºÚÁÏÉç will not be responsible for any personal items left.

  • Graduates are encourage to utilize the College’s official hashtag: #NCDawgsºÚÁÏÉç

  • The tassel is worn on the right side of the cap until directed otherwise towards the end of the ceremony.

  • All graduates will walk in single file, keeping a safe social distance, and remain standing until after the invocation, Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem are completed. (Men, please remove caps).

  • At check-in, graduates will receive a card with their name and honors listed. Graduates must keep this card until they reach the stage; then give it to the reader. The card will be used to read your name.

  • After a graduate's name is announced, graduates will proceed to the podium on the right side, receive their diploma, then walk in front of the stage toward the left to receive their nursing pin and candle. After receiving their pin and candle, graduates should proceed back to their seats.

  • At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates will walk in a single file, keeping a safe social distance, and exit the double doors North of the SEC to proceed to the Clock Tower.

A professional photographer will be onsite to take pictures of graduates to purchase. Mr. Kevin Painter and his staff will take photos of each graduate as they cross the stage during the "diploma presentation" as well as a "pre-ceremony portrait" portrait.

  • The doors located on the West side of the SEC will open one (1) hour prior to the ceremony.

  • Guests may park vehicles in designated areas (See PARKING on the ºÚÁÏÉç-Corsicana Map.)

Graduates and their guests are requested to be respectful to all graduates and the college by attending the entire ceremony.

To respect our families so they may see or hear their graduate’s name, items such as horns, loud noise makers, balloons, confetti, and any other items that could impede ones view are not allowed in the stadium or gym. If you bring any of these items, you will need to leave this in your vehicle.

  • At the conclusion of each ceremony, guests will be asked to remain standing until all graduates exit the gym.

  • Graduates will exit the double doors North of the SEC to proceed to the Clock Tower. Please meet your graduates by the Clock Tower for photo opportunities.
