Steps to Apply to the Bachelor's Degree RN-to-BSN Bridge Program


PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO APPLY TO THE PROGRAM.

STEP 1:

BECOME ELIGIBLE TO APPLY ºÚÁÏÉç ADMISSION

 

1. Carefully review eligibility requirements for the RN-to-BSN Bridge program. 

2. Review the RN-to-BSN Bridge Virtual Information Session presentation, prior to submitting an application for admission.

3. Apply to ºÚÁÏÉç if you are not already a student here.

a. Make sure you are under the correct degree plan.
Prior to acceptance to the program, you should be on: Pre-Bachelor of Science in Nursing-AS (AS.BDN)

b. Send ALL OFFICIAL transcripts from EACH college/university attended, to the ºÚÁÏÉç Office of Admissions.

 

  • Applicants must be admitted to ºÚÁÏÉç. Admission to ºÚÁÏÉç does not guarantee admission to a Health Professions program.

  • Submit a completed ºÚÁÏÉç RN-BSN program application and include all required documents.

  • Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4-point scale for all prerequisite general academic coursework.

  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4-point scale for all nursing coursework.

  • All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better prior to enrollment. (Offers of admission will be contingent upon all prerequisites being completed prior to the first class day).

  • Must hold an Associate Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education that is accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency or a diploma in nursing from an institution that is accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency.

  • Must have a current, unencumbered Texas or an Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact RN license to begin the program.

  • Must provide copy of Driver's license or valid government ID

  • Provide documentation and contact information for any community service and or involvement in extracurricular and/or professional activities (if applicable).

   

PLEASE NOTE: All prerequisite courses MUST be completed before the first day of Spring semester classes.

 

STEP 2:

APPLY FOR ADMISSION TO THE RN-to-BSN PROGRAM

 

MAIL OR HAND DELIVER A HARD COPY OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

RN-to-BSN Program Application for Admission

  • Download application: RN-to-BSN Bridge Application for Admission

  • Application MUST be typed. Handwritten applications will not be considered. Print application after typing in all areas of information, sign the application and include in your application packet. 

  • Application deadline: June 16, ºÚÁÏÉç

  • UPDATE: Write in CC (Corsicana) or WX (Waxahachie) as location preference at the top of your application. 
    (If approval is not granted in time for a Fall ºÚÁÏÉç start, applicants that requested Waxahachie will be offered enrollment at the Corsicana location.)

  Transcripts

  • Include transcripts from EACH college and/or university you have attended, including ºÚÁÏÉç.

  • Unofficial transcripts/copies of transcripts are acceptable for the RN-to-BSN Bridge application packet.

Degree Audit Transcript

  • Include a copy of your Degree Audit Transcript obtained via Self-Service under unofficial transcripts.

  • You must be under the correct degree plan. Contact the Office of Admissions for assistance.

Official Identification

  • Include a copy of your driver's license or valid government ID

Community Service

  • Include documentation of any community service and/or involvement in extracurricular and/or professional activities (if applicable). 

  • Contact information for the associated agency must also be provided.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

 

Faculty will rank all qualified applicants. Offers of admission will be sent out July 1, ºÚÁÏÉç.

If you are offered admission, your acceptance letter will include important information regarding important next steps:

  1. Registering for a SurPath account

  2. Registering for drug screening through SurPath

  3. Providing proof of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR

  4. Proof of required healthcare provider immunizations

  5. Verification of Social Security card

  6. Proof of Health Insurance

  7. Copy of Driver's LIcense
