ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF INSTRUCTION
DISTANCE EDUCATION


DISTANCE EDUCATION

 

ºÚÁÏÉç will offer distance education. Distance education is an alternative form of instruction where the student and instructor are not in the same physical setting for the majority of instruction.

 


STANDARDS

 

Distance education courses will comply with the standards and criteria set for all ºÚÁÏÉç courses.
 
ºÚÁÏÉç distance education courses will be awarded the same credit hours as traditional courses.
 
The Vice President of Academic Affairs will ensure that procedures are in place regarding distance education to meet accreditation requirements as well as state and federal statutes.

 


ACADEMIC AND STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

 

Distance education students shall be provided academic and student support services appropriate for distance education courses such as, but not limited to, advising, career counseling, library, tutoring and other resources.

 


VERIFICATION

 

ºÚÁÏÉç will demonstrate that the student who registers in a distance education course is the same student who participates and receives credit for the course.

 


PRIVACY

 

ºÚÁÏÉç will protect the identity and information of the distance education student.

 


FACULTY

 

Faculty will be hired using the same credentialing process for distance education courses and shall meet the same criteria as all other faculty of ºÚÁÏÉç.

 


FEES

 

Distance education courses are subject to additional fees. Students will be notified of additional fees at the time of registration.
